A recently acquired, established reseller credit bureau with a strong base in identity verification, screening, and credit data. The business already serves many clients and has meaningful market traction, providing a strong commercial foundation to build from. The next chapter is to transform that foundation into a decision intelligence platform, combining data, onboarding workflows, verification, screening, and decisioning to help businesses make smarter, faster onboarding and risk decisions at scale.
About the opportunity
We are looking for a high-agency, startup-minded engineer to join the core leadership team of a business undergoing a full transformation.
This is not a conventional corporate engineering role. It is an opportunity to help rebuild and scale a profitable, established business with real customers, live infrastructure, and strong market access, while operating with the urgency, ownership, and ambition of a startup.
The role
We are looking for a technically strong builder who wants to:
- write code,
- lead architecture,
- help shape product direction,
- help build the engineering function as we scale.
In the early phase, this role is highly hands-on. You will work directly with leadership to improve technical quality, modernise systems, build new products, and establish new engineering standards and culture.
Ideal experience
- Strong software engineering background with demonstrable grounding in core computer science and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience in some form of senior, lead, or early-stage technical leadership role.
- Experience designing APIs, data models, service architecture, and production systems.
- Comfortable being hands-on in code while also owning broader technical decisions.
- Able to communicate clearly with both business stakeholders and client technical teams.
- Exposure to fintech, regtech, identitytech, or decisioning systems is an advantage, but not essential.

That said, we care far more about engineering fundamentals than whether you have worked in this exact stack before. A strong candidate should be able to reason well about backend architecture, data design, APIs, infrastructure, and system reliability.
This role is for someone who is hardcore about building, thrives on ownership, and wants to help turn a company into a serious product and technology business.
Compensation includes a base salary, strong performance based bonus opportunities and meaningful equity participation.
