About the Role

Ideaonomy is seeking an exceptional Senior Product Designer. As our first dedicated design hire, you will be instrumental in establishing the design foundation for our AI-powered software platform. This is a fully remote, strategic role where you'll own end-to-end product design from concept to go-to-market. You'll shape not just interfaces, but the entire user experience philosophy, ensuring our AI technology remains human-centred, ethical, and purposeful as we scale.

While working independently, you will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver transformative designs that redefine user journeys through AI.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Design Excellence

• Lead complete design processes from initial concept through to market launch for our desktop and mobile platform
• Create comprehensive design assets including wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs in Figma
• Translate complex user requirements into intuitive, accessible experiences
• Ensure all designs meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with our product and engineering team to ensure seamless design implementation
• Provide mentorship and design guidance to our cross-functional team
• Communicate design vision effectively to stakeholders at all levels
• Advocate for human-centred, accessible, and inclusive design principles

Strategic Design Leadership

• Establish and champion design best practices, processes, and ethical design standards
• Drive design strategy that directly contributes to business goals and product vision
• Make high-level design decisions that balance user needs, ethical considerations, technical constraints, and business objectives
• Envision and design transformative user experiences that leverage AI responsibly

Other Opportunities

This role will be pivotal in the delivery of the Ideaonomy platform, your primary focus. There are opportunities to also focus on the following areas (not all at once!). For example: Year 1 focus: Platform design (70%), Website overhaul (20%), Brand evolution (10%).

• Lead the complete overhaul of our company website
• Work with the Business to transform our brand
• Contribute to the development of engaging marketing assets, leveraging your creative expertise to ensure a consistent and compelling brand message
• Maintain a steady flow of creative ideas and contribute to the evolution of our visual identity across all platforms, ensuring our brand remains fresh, relevant, and impactful.
• Assist in the development of engaging user documentation and how-to guides

Requirements:

• Extensive professional experience designing high-quality digital products, for example 8+ years
• Top-tier UX, layout, and visual design skills with portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design capability
• Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and best practices
• Non-linear design thinking approach with openness to feedback
• Strategic mindset with ability to connect design decisions to business outcomes
• Expert proficiency in Figma and modern design tools
• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate design rationale
• Curiosity about emerging technologies, especially AI, and commitment to designing them responsibly
• Self-directed with high accountability for delivering quality work, ideally worked remotely or hybrid-model

• Knowledge of responsible AI design principles and best practices
• Background in creating brand identity and marketing assets
• Technical writing or documentation design experience - be a confident writer of short-form content - words are design too
• Web development skills or strong technical understanding
• Experience as a founding designer or in early-stage start-ups
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
